SWINGING SWEDES
Centrestage presents Absolutely Abba — a dazzling tribute to the legendary Swinging Swedes of the 70s, featuring the 11-piece Centrestage All-Star Band.
Shows take place on Wednesday August 14, Friday August 16, and Saturday August 17 at 7.30pm at the Impetus theatre in Circular Drive. There will be an extra matinee performance on Saturday August 17 at 2pm.
Tickets cost R250 for the Wednesday, R280 for the Friday and Saturday, with the matinee show at R150 for children and R200 for adults.

CULTURAL EVENING
The highly-anticipated inaugural Vice-Chancellor’s Cultural Evening is presented in celebration of Women’s Month.
The evening will showcase the diverse talents of the Department of Music and Performing Arts‘ students and faculty.
Headlining the concert will be legendary jazz saxophonist McCoy Mrubata, alongside vocalists Monique Hellenberg and Shannon-Leigh Botto.
The Cape Town-based Community Philharmonic Orchestra and the Nelson Mandela University Symphony Orchestra will join forces to provide the evening’s exquisite musical backing.
Other highlights include the Nelson Mandela University Jazz Ensemble led by John Edwards, and appearances by rising stars Nande Mzaidume, Khanyisile Skade, Kamvelihle Kostile, Mmangaliso Mtshali, and more.
The event will take place on Saturday at 5.30pm for 6pm at the university’s South Campus Auditorium.

SPRING SYMPHONY
The Eastern Cape Philharmonic Orchestra will present its fifth concert of the 2024 season, A Spring Symphony, on Sunday September 15 in the Feather Market Centre.
It will be conducted by maestro Bernhard Gueller, and will feature concertmaster David Bester (violin) as the soloist. The concert will include works by Beethoven and Mendelssohn.
